We serve the physicians and institutions advancing cardiovascular science, so patients everywhere benefit.
The Foundation supports interventional cardiology fellows, early-career and practicing interventional cardiologists, academic institutions, research investigators, and training programs. Its primary base is the New York region, with a reach that extends through national and international academic collaboration.
When science, training, and innovation are strengthened, complex coronary disease can be treated more safely, more precisely, and with greater consistency.

OUR IMPACT
Why Our Work Matters.
Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States. The difference between a good outcome and a poor one often comes down to the training of the physician, the quality of the research behind the procedure, and the tools available in the room. The Shlofmitz Heart Foundation invests in all three.
Founded in 2017 and recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, SHF funds physician training programs, investigator-initiated research, and equipment grants that raise the standard of cardiac care.
A MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER
Innovation only moves as fast as education and research allow.
After more than three decades performing over 1,000 coronary interventions a year, I’ve watched the field transform. Advanced imaging, calcium modification, precision-guided strategies — these techniques genuinely change outcomes. But they only reach patients if physicians are trained in them, and they only become standard of care if the research behind them is funded.
That’s the gap the Shlofmitz Heart Foundation was created to close. Not just performing excellent procedures, but investing in the science and education that make excellent procedures possible everywhere.
